View from the top

I was back up in Big Bear last weekend, and went to the top of Keller Peak, to check out the view from the fire lookout. Pretty awesome view... http://www.ironcrossoffroad.com/images/Landscape/Keller%20Peak%20Fire%20Lookout_1200.jpg This is looking west, more or less, at Mt San Antonio, A.K.A. Mt Ba...

Re: 2012 SummerFest Night Photography

Here is the video I made from the shots I took. The video is in HD, although to get the full effect you have to click on the full screen button on the player. I suggest viewing it in full screen, otherwise you may not see all of the detail in the stars. I also suggest you start the video, then hit t...

Re: 2012 SummerFest Night Photography

That's a stack of 211.

I took a total of 294, but there were anomalies in some, so I had to cut it down.

I'm working on putting all 294 into a video right now.

I'll post it up when I'm done.

Re: First Aid Kit

I used to do a lot of back packing and took a red cross course. Seemed like a good idea, when I'm going to be walking 10 miles into the high sierra. I have a first aid kit, but its old, outdated, and was designed for back packing. I'm not getting a suture kit, seems a bit extreme for a vehicle kit, ...

Re: First Aid Kit

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm going to supliment it with a Tactical field/trauma kit, and an additional quick clot dressing. Ten 4 on replacing the little packs with bottles of stuff. I already had that in mind. What do you think about a suture kit or sterile one use skin stapler?

Re: First Aid Kit

Hey Tom, which adventure medical kit do you recommend for carrying in a vehicle?

I was lookin at their website, there are so many to chose from.

I was thinking the professional expedition would be a good kit to start with.

It's available on amazon.com for $240.

Re: 2012 SummerFest - Field Day Planning/Discussion

Hi, we were up in big bear this weekend, asked the FS about the car count. now it seems to be 8 (?) None of the rangers at the Discovery center seemed to really know.. the campground is great, will be a good time.. Steve and Shellie If I had known you were up there I would have come up and bothered...

Re: I've gone crazy!!!

Oh, where to begin... There are several reasons why I decided to change. When I originally went shopping for a Jeep back in February of 2007, the JK Unlimited had just come out. I originally wanted to buy one, but there were no Rubicon models to be found at any of the dealers within 100 miles. I was...
