Re: GENERAL PLANNING

All,

It looks like we'll have an opportunity to do a comparison test and write up on shower tents for a future net.

Re: GENERAL PLANNING

I plan to bring my shower tent. I've started using a converted pressure garden sprayer as a shower. I fill it with warm water heated on the stove. I find that it's less hassle than using the Zodi and uses much less water. I can get a decent shower and wash my hair with about 3/4 of a gallon of water...

Re: MEALS

All,

If anyone needs a large pot I will have a 5qt pot with high and low steamer/collendar baskets and a 5 1/2 qt enamel lined dutch oven (stovetop or oven type, not for charcoal cooking).

Re: MEALS

All, I'm bringing all the ingredients for my meals but I would appreciate some sous chef assistance from those with frying pans in my group. For my breakfast if we will be spending a leisurely day in camp I'm assuming people will be getting up at different times so the breakfast bar will be open for...

Re: MEALS

Dave, 1. Are there any restrictions where we are going regarding the use of open fires or charcoal (for Dutch ovens)? 2. Are we planning on having campfires? I wasn't planning on bringing any Dutch oven equipment due to the weight, need for charcoal, and not knowing about fire restrictions. The same...

Re: GENERAL PLANNING

You might want to try Sportsmans Guide - https://www.sportsmansguide.com/productlist?k=fuel+tanks I have a spare U.S. military style 5 gal can you can borrow. It's the kind with the large spin on cap. Unfortunately, they can only be transported upright as fuel tends to leak slightly around the rivet...

Re: GENERAL HAM RADIO & APRS

Does anyone have experience with newer APRS software than UIVIEW? I pretty much gave up on any moving map software for APRS since UIVIEW. It was all getting pretty old and was not always compatible with newer versions of Windows. It seems that most newer software required a real time Internet connec...

Re: GENERAL PLANNING

I can carry 2 fuel cans outside on my rig. I have 4 more that I can carry inside the camper. It's not preferred but it's better than carrying them in the passenger compartment and they are NATO style cans so there shouldn't be any leak or odor problems as long as the lid gaskets are good. I will nee...
