Re: Mohave Preserve for Winterfest?

We could do a SpringFest in Death Valley. Late April or early May is generally not too late for DV.

I couldn't resist the opportunity for a Pinzgauer plug :D

Re: Mohave Preserve for Winterfest?

MLKJ Day weekend is a good time in January for those who get it off. I've found that most places are not too crowded considering it's a 3 day weekend. Probably because everyone is still recovering from the holidays.

Re: Mohave Preserve for Winterfest?

I'd be interested in either the Mojave Preserve or Death Valley. I've been to Death Valley 3 times since I got the Pinzgauer but there are still many trails I haven't run and others that I'd like to run again. I'll be doing the Mojave Road in October but I'm sure that there will be many places along...

Summerfest APRS

I have APRS running in the Pinzgauer. If anyone is interested to see what you can do with it and you're not running APRS or in the SoCal area you can track my progress by going to http://www.openaprs.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and entering my call sign, KD6GCO. You can also z...

Re: Everyone still going to SummerFest say "Aye" !!

I'm all packed and ready to head out the door. I probably won't make the noon run but I may be interested in going for a short run in the afternoon.

Re: Summerfest Friday Aug 22 Run

I hope to be up there by 11:00 on Friday and join you for the Friday run. I haven't been on any of the trails around Big Bear other than some of the easy roads through Holcomb Valley and my one attempt at John Bull. I'm anxious to try some of these other trails I've been hearing about. Will we need ...

Motorcycle Camping?

After listening to tonight's net I was thinking that it may be of interest to have a net on motorcycle camping. There may be some other people who like myself have recently gotten back into motorcycling and who may want to find out more about bike camping. I rode a 100cc Yamaha YL-1 some back in hig...

Re: Summerfest Scenic Run Saturday Aug 23

I may be interested in doing this run. I don't want to break anything next weekend since I have an invite to go up to the Mammoth area over Labor Day weekend to do some trails I've been wanting to run up there. Are any of the proposed runs down the East side toward Yucca Valley on for the fest? I've...

Ollie,

What's the vertical clearance on that overhang on the Yankee Boy Basin picture? it looks like some of those FJs may have had to remove their roof loads to get by.
