Re: Dutch Oven Lasagna

I tried out this lasagna on my family tonight. Everyone agreed it was top-notch! Even my wife, and she is a lasagna fiend. Only problem...I think I went over my Weight Watcher points tonight. :o Oh well... I'm going to modify this recipie for my Backpaking Oven. It'll be a bit messier than I like, b...

Re: SoCA Rockclimbing

OK, good observations, you guys know your stuff. Yeah, I was noticing the gate on the locking biner facing the rock. Actually, the biner could not touch the rock, as it was set about 12 feet up the route, behind me. I was standing on a pocket ledge when I took the photo. Yes, I had a safety line on!...

Re: SoCA Backpacking

I am intersted in doing some climbing hiking in the next year. I have a lot of the gear and I am trained to use it for rescue but have never been trained to use it climbing. (i.e. setting anchors, etc) I hope to take some classes next year. Where do you suggest a good place to start is? In the Inla...

SoCA Rockclimbing

Here's a photo of a Johnson Valley rock climbing trip about three years ago. This little kid is now over 6', taller than me! As I look at the photo, I can see I made I minor error setting up the rope! Can anyone spot it? Oops! And yes, I always am the first one up any route that I set up. If it can ...

SoCA Backpacking

Well, OK, I'll be the first to post here too! I've loved backpacking since I was about 14. I try to get out once a month. Weather doesn't matter. We have Crampons and Ice Axes, and I know where to rent snowshoes. We had a couple of great ice and snow climbs earlier this year. We even ran into ice on...

Re: Favorite So CA Dives

You should consider trying Bonine or the relief band and get over to the Isthmus. The diving there is amazing and the crowds are thinning out this time of year. Scott Scott; Thanks for the tip. But Bonine makes me even sicker! I've tried bands, scope, and ginger. Nothing seems to work. However...I ...

Favorite So CA Dives

Well, OK, I'll be the first to post on the scuba section. Both my sons and I are divers. My oldest is probably the most skilled, but my youngest likes it the most. He's my built-in buddy. I'm cheap, and get horribly seasick on a boat, so I prefer beach dives. The nicest place I have found on the coa...

Re: BREAKFAST EGG CASSEROLE

Eubi, I am printing out the Breakfast Egg Caserole instructions so I can make it. Do you have suggestions on how much sausage (LBs), how many onions, and how much cheese? If you put the onions in would you need to add cooking oil? I do a lot of this by feel. The sausages I use are Lit'l Beef Smokie...
