Re: Trail First Aid Kit

You buy a SAM splint at REI or on line. It comes rolled up. The value of the SAM split is that it can be made ridge by the shape you put into it. It can also be molded to fit your need. Put around a neck it can serve as a neck collar but is not as good as the real deal. I would not rely on too heave...

Re: Do people still use CB?

Most of the Off-Road Clubs still use CB. I think it is a catch 22 thing. Most of these clubs started in the 70's when CB was the best solution. Now when a new member joins, he is the only one with out a CB so must buy one in order to participate. If a new club were to form they might go FRS. I run F...

Re: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee

ok - I have a picture up now. Just one for now. This is the "car wash" on Hells Revenge at Moab in 2005. There was no water this year (2008). There must be an easy way to have the sytem resize pictures. One of my guests this year has a lot of great pictures of the vehicle so I just might let you loo...

Top 10 Must-Have Items For Your Recently Purchased 4WD Vehic

You’ve heard of David Letterman’s Top 10 list. I have one as well. But instead of poking fun at someone or something, my list is serious. It’s designed to prepare you and your vehicle for off-road driving. While these are ranked in order of importance, you should consider all recommendations to be c...

Finding a Professional 4WD Training Instructor

With the growth in off-road recreation there is an increasing demand for quality 4WD training. There is a huge difference in driving a 4WD off-road and driving a passenger car on the street. A great deal of skill is needed and many intuitive reactions need to be re-learned so they are immediately av...

Survival Check List

If you let someone know where you are going and when you will return, chances are that you will not need to survive more then 72 hours while you wait for help. Unlike back packers, mountain bikers, and motorcyclists, we have pleantly of room to take all the supplies and equipment to actually be comf...

Re: Trail First Aid Kit

I would recommend you divide your first aid supplies up into separate sub pouches or bags, or areas etc. inside the main first aid kit so that it is more convenient to find the items you need. Here is my list: tool kit, medications, wound care, sprains & splints; To splint a long bone you must immob...
