Re: Upper Coyote Canyon/Horse Canyon: 5-24-08

Well, sorry guys, but it looks like I'm gonna have to cancel this run after all. Saturday, I'm gonna be putting in a new fuel pump, distributor and sparkplug wires. Then I should be back off the road! ;) I'll get another run going for this area again in a few months when it reopens. The weathe...

Re: Upper Coyote Canyon/Horse Canyon: 5-24-08

Well, I'm still planning on this run but only if I get my fuel pump fixed before the weekend. We just got back from the Colorado River, near Yuma AZ. However, on the way back home my Jeep stopped running and I had to get it towed home. That was free, fortunately. So, if it looks like I'm gonna be ha...

Re: What to do with your old G.I. Joe guys!

A friend emailed it to me, knowing it'd be right up my alley.

I just could not stop laughing! My thought- the single greatest picture ever taken!

Re: Upper Coyote Canyon/Horse Canyon: 5-24-08

Is UCC closed as well? I thought it was just LCC at the second crossing to allow the sheep access to water in the hot months. I didn't think UCC was affected, BUT I don't know for sure. Oh yeah. The entire canyon is closed June 1st through September 30th. The gate in UCC is near the start of the tr...

Hey, thanks guys!

Yeah, on my last trail run, Eric (SD Native) was telling me a couple ways to go about getting the license. I got a new CB I gotta install here soon and then I'll be looking into getting a HAM and licence.

Upper Coyote Canyon/Horse Canyon: 5-24-08

Well, this is the last month for a trip into Coyote Canyon until it opens again in October. So I'm doin' my traditional run here on the last weekend of May. [Edit- I had to change the date to the 24th. I forgot we have another wedding to go to.] As some already know, the shelf road known as the 'Tur...

Re: Lone Pine to Mammoth?

I'm planning a trip up to northern California this Fall. There are a few trails up off the 395 between Bishop and Bridgeport we're going to try on our way up. I got the information out of the Charles A. Well book, Guide To Northern California Backroads and 4-wheel Drive Trails. http://funtreks.com/i...
