USA Sleeping Bag
Ahhhhhhh..........at last. A decent, high quality sleeping bag, perfect for rough expedition travel, capable of very low temps (-20 to +65 degrees), and best of all, MADE IN THE USA. Butler Bags has been around for 25 years and makes some very fine equipment. See http://www.butlerbags.com/cms/Product_A ... edLink=ASB . Comfort is mine.

Re: USA Sleeping Bag
$429
For that much it better last forever. I believe the most I ever paid for a sleeping bag was something around $120.

Re: USA Sleeping Bag
I have a couple of the old cotton Coleman bags that you can zip together to make one big bag. There ain't nothing more cozy and warm than snuggling up with the little woman in them and they have kept us warm down to the low 30's. I think my Coleman's were made in the USA, at least 25 years ago they were.
Those Butler's do look nice, is that flannel or cotton on the interior?

Re: USA Sleeping Bag
Very nice.
They even have one 84" long for us extra long folks. Funny though, the long bag is cheaper by $50.00 ...
Are they sold in any local stores where you can check 'em out ??

Re: USA Sleeping Bag
Wow - 22 lbs ???traveltoad wrote:22lbs!!!
Does it come with a forklift ???

Sounds like it's designed more to be left in a trailer or camper than to be used by a tent camper. Is there some advantage to the heavy flannel as opposed to a down or fiberfil style sleeping bag of the same temperature rating ? My comforter at home isn't anywhere near that heavy - might cut off the circulation to my feet.

Re: USA Sleeping Bag
Geesh, Larry!!
For a guy that carries hundreds of pounds of food, 22lbs. should be no big deal!
(just for you)
Seriously though, I weighed my regular bag and it was only about 10 lbs. lighter and about the same size. The advantage of course is that the Butler gives a much lower temp rating than the old bag.
