Mojave Road Potluck Sign-ups
Date: Saturday, January 10th
Location: Seventeen Mile Point
Alrighty then, this thread will be for those interested in joining in on a potluck saturday evening along the Mojave Road. Hey, we can do it friday night if everyone wants to. Depending on how the weather treats us, we can figure things out along the way as well. My advice would be to not get too extravagant; keep things somewhat simple, since we'll be hauling all our gear along and won't have a "camp" to put stuff while we go off wheeling, like we had at BorregoFest. Also keep in mind that this is fully primitive camping. No electrical hook ups. Oh, and if everyone brings some firewood we should have enough to last us. Now, that said...
Let us know what you plan to bring and we’ll keep an up to date list in this thread.
Appetizers
Main Dishes
thatsalexus?: carne asada/adobada tacos
bruisedFJ: chicken breast steaks
Beverages
BorregoWrangler: Coca Cola/Captain Morgan/Ice
Supplies and Cooking Equipment
thatsalexus?: gas grill
BorregoWrangler: propane stove/cups/plasticware

I think traditionally when you start a potluck you should be the first to add a main dish but since you are bringing beverages and dessert, you're forgiven.

I'll be bringing stuff for carne asada or adobada tacos for potluck night and appetizer/simple stuff for the other night.

Speak for yourself, Mr. Jeeper. The FJs will have current.BorregoWrangler wrote:No electrical hook ups.

I'll bring chicken breast steaks marinated in a great sauce I just tried last week. I'll probably pre-cook them at home in case we're trying to cook in a 40 degree snow drift. Should be easy enough to just warm them up in any weather conditions.
A suggestion: should we limit the food portions to about 4 servings? For example, if we have 4 people bring a main dish for 4, that's 16 servings. Same with the appetizers.
