Re: Menu and Meal Assignments
I was talking to Tom today and he brought up something to which I had not really given much consideration. On a 10 day trip, even with 12V fridge units, we may run into problems with items like meat. I guess we need to start thinking about some solutions now. I see two possible ideas:
1. designate one fridge unit to keep the meat frozen until we need it. In theory, this would solve the problem, but there are some downsides which may make this difficult or impractical - but it could work.
2. make a trip to a nearby town to buy the fresh items that we need. This will also work, but it may take a small amount of time we would otherwise use for the trip.
Charlie, what type of cooler do you have.
Please post up your thoughts.

Dave, et. al.,
I favour the idea of planning a supply stop or two during the trip. That way we can have fresher ingredients, not worry so much about spoilage, and it will give us the opportunity to pick up those items which no matter how well we plan and pack we always seem to forget or don't pack enough of (with me it's usually the coffee

Don't worry Bruce. I got you covered with the coffee. I just need to get a head count on how many drinkers we have and whether we need to bring foo-foo creamers.

Re: Menu and Meal Assignments
Another option is to plan the menu so fresh meats and other fresh items are used up first and we have less perishable meals for the last 2 or 3 days.
See you on the Trail!

The time has arrived to begin the hard planning parts of the trip
On Wednesday March 3rd @ 7:00 pm we are planning a Skype conference call for everyone
that will be going.
The topics to be discussed will be meals/menus and equipment needs.
Dave will start the conference as I think he has everyones Skype number?
Please be ready to discuss ant concern etc.
Please reply by PM or post so we will know everyone will be in attendance
for the discussion on Wednesday, also sign on a few minutes early to help prevent
any delay in getting the discussion started.

Re: Menu and Meal Assignments
I will initiate the call. I have Skype info for everyone, so unless you cannot do a Skype call, we are set.
