Saturday BorregoFest Run (Painted Gorge / Carrizo Mountain)
Re: Saturday BorregoFest Run (Painted Gorge / Carrizo Mountain)
Ollie/John,
I'd like to sign up for this run. I've been out of touch with the group for a while and am looking forward to it. I will only be out for the day. Could I hook up with you at the gas station in Ocotillo or the trailhead?

Since we have such a large group on this run, we've split it into two. Ollie will lead a group down through Ocotillo and start at the Painted Gorge Road trail head, while I'll be leading the other half around the back way, through Valliceto Wash, Diablo dropoff, and Fish Creek. Where ever the two groups meet up, that's where we'll stop for lunch.
So I got you on the list in Ollie's group.

It will be good to see you again Steve. If we leave the campsite on time, we should be in Ocotiilo around 9:45 or so. Monitor our simplex station for the run (145.510) and holler out when you hear us chatting.StevesKJ wrote:Ollie/John,

How much mud can we expect on this run due to the recent rains?

Its really hard to say... but that's one of the great things about heading out into ever changing conditions. The unknown! I guess we'll be finding out real soon.CactusJK wrote:How much mud can we expect on this run due to the recent rains?
I doubt that there's much mud.
Re: Saturday BorregoFest Run (Painted Gorge / Carrizo Mountain)
Nothing wrong with mud unless it is a few feet deep

Can you sign me up for this one? I'm unable to do the mine trip after all - for hiking/hurt back reasons....
Thanks,
Jon
