ALERT

Big Dave alerted me last night that the "Grand Fire", which started about noon yesterday, is burning in the Frazier Park area. The latest news is that it has grown to about 3500 acres and is only 15% contained. The current path seems to be taking the fire in a south and southeast direction, but that could easily change if the winds change.

Our Summer Fest / Field Day event is currently planned for the McGill Campground which is located near Frazier Park. I was not able to get a clear idea of the exact areas affected by the fire, but my initial impression is that McGill has not been affected, yet, and does not appear to be in the current path of the fire.

Anyone with more information, please post-up.

Here is a good site for wildfire information -

http://www.geomac.gov/index.shtml

To get detailed maps on individual fires mouse over "View Perimeters"

Click on "View Active"

and select the incident by name

In this case its the "Grand" fire.

Its an unfortunate reality here in the west that we're subject to wildfires. Its useful to know where to go for up to date detailed information.

Dave / Hector -

Do we have any of Randy's band plan checklists available ?? Those were very helpful in figuring out what we had, and what we needed...

I don't, but Hector may. We have other checklists however and in the next few days, we will begin to finalize what we have and what we will need.
