TRAIL DESCRIPTION:
"The area is a maze of deeply cut trenches and sharp ridges. Extremely narrow with tight turns, near vertical climbs and cliff-like descents. Articulation is severely tested for the average hardcore vehicle. Short wheel based vehicles have a distinct advantage. Lockers (or A-Trac) are necessary (if the trail guide will let you use them!), preferably front and rear. It is nearly impossible to follow an exact route without a guide; however, you can't really get lost for long. Just head east in any of the main washes to return to Highway 86. Slick and dangerous if wet. Don't go alone. Vehicle damage is possible. A lift is required."
Trail description above by Charles Wells in his book Guide to Southern California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails.

My thoughts are this is some of the most fun you can have wheeling in Southern California. This is a weekend of wheeling in the mud hills, notches, soft sand, steep hills, and tight canyons. It will test your skill, your vehicle, and your resolve. The difficulty will range from 3 to 6. You are guaranteed to get “cross axled”. There is some risk of damage to your vehicle. It may be a tough, technical trail ride for some participants, especially drivers of stock vehicles. An inch or 2 of rain soaks in quickly and is not a problem. Only a few areas in the bottoms will be muddy.

If you have any concerns your vehicle is capable for the trail, post in the reply your concern and list the vehicle specs.

LOGISTICS:
Bring your lunch and a camp chair.
It is 40+ miles from the campsite to the trail head. We will drive to the AM/PM on the corner of 86S and S22 to top off our tanks then drive the remaining 5+ miles to the trail head to air down. On the way back to camp we will be going past the AM/PM again so we can top off our tanks on the way to the campsite.
We need to leave camp on time. We will quit about 3 or 3:30 so we can be back in camp in time to prepare for the potluck.
See you on the Trail!

Phil FJ and Dave Jeep

Did this run a couple of years ago with Tom. Lot of fun, looking forward to it again.
