2016 Summer Fest/Field Day Sign-up, General Info & Planning
It's time to start planning our annual Summer Fest and Field Day event. Please let us know if you plan on attending.
This will be a family event involving three days of camping in the mountains (elevation 7500 feet), an official ARRL Field Day competition, and one or more trail runs. We will also offer all levels of Amateur Radio license testing on Sunday.
There will be a pot luck and Dutch Oven cook-off on Saturday combined with wine and beer tasting.
For those who want to explore the area, there are hundreds of miles of off pavement trails, including some of the more challenging, (Miller Jeep Trail).
The camp site is accessible by 2WD and all vehicles are welcome. Our camping spots are very limited, so sign up early.

Dave -
Can we start a thread for Field Day-related equipment / supplies lists ?
It would be great to know what everyone is bringing to make sure we have everything covered.
Thanks

Dave-
Do you know if at Group Camp #2 I can drive right up to a campsite, or do I have to carry my gear a ways? It makes a difference since I have a physical mobility problem. Is Camp #2 at the west end, near the nature trail, or the lower east end?
Thanks, Jack

The paved road goes right to and through the group campsite and there is a paved spur for each individual campsite. On the campground map, group site #2 is on the southern end of Mcgill and not near the nature trail (see: http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/m ... rkId=70166 ). Hope this helps.
