Here is where we'll plan our annual Borrego Fest event, including Amateur Radio testing, wheeling, camping, and gourmet eating in the desert.

A friend and I will actually be there because of CQP - we operate an "expedition" station out of one of the cabins. If you guys will be there in the early afternoon on Friday we could really use a hand getting the antenna up - we're gonna try to make it taller than we've tried with just ourselves. You are also welcome to come visit and operate if you have any interest - the contest runs from Saturday through Sunday.

I'm very glad you will be able to join us this year.

It looks like we will be having dueling contests at camp. OAUSA will be doing a "Desert Appreciation" special event on Friday through Sunday, under the special event call sign of W6O. Our ARRL listing is here: http://www.arrl.org/special_events/sear ... odel:Event. I expect that we will have the radio shack up pretty early on Friday. Warren, Hector and Larry are in charge and you can coordinate with them, here on the website.

Warren, Hector and Larry - where are you planning to set up the antenna, and what type? We're going to be putting up a fan dipole that basically spans the whole area around the cabins in a north-south orientation(using the trees to guy it). We're a little worried about interference between us - are you gonna be south of the pool as usual? And what kind of antenna are you planning to set up?

If I make it out it will be a day trip. I have to work one day this weekend, just not sure which day yet.

We will setup near the group camp area I believe Warren and I will be using end fed dipoles, I will also demo a buddipole. Larry will probably have a vertical dipole or a wire as well. We will be coordinating frequencies so interference should not be a major issue. I will also have VHF and UHF Antennas on a mast The only thing possible\y problematic is "encompassing the cabin area", Please check with Dave and ensure our hosts are ok with that, most likely they will but I don't believe we have asked that specific question of them.
