Re: 2019 Field Day Group Meal Planning
Bruce,
Thank you and I look forward to it.
Please send a note to Dave as he was going to partner with Hector who now will be in later Friday. I think you and Dave may be able to make breakfast together.
Jack and I will be preparing the coffee for Friday morning and I will help out any way I can.
One more thing. I sort of volunteered you for the Saturday morning coffee taste-off along with Dave, Jack and Me. Hope you don’t mind. I have the espresso cups we used last year. Just need your expertise.
And finally, if possible, I would like to try to cook my jalepenos poppers in your oven if it is free at any time.
Thanks
Kevin

Kevin & Bruce
Bruce: I'll check with Hector to get a better fix on his expected arrival time, but at last check, he was planning to be there for breakfast on Friday morning. Regardless, we can always use an additional chef. So, Bruce you are in.
We are planning on Eggs Benedict. For those getting to the breakfast table early enough, there will be an assortment of coffee brews and maybe a tray of real Cinnabons. The usual breakfast stuff will also be there.
Kevin: On the "oven question", I may have you covered. As you know, I have relied on the Coleman oven for many years, and I don't see that changing (much) in the future, especially as I just replaced the one I have been using for about the last 10 years.
Recently however, I discovered another camp oven that will be joining the Coleman for Field Day - the Winnerwell Fast Fold Camp Oven (https://springbarcanvas.com/collections ... -camp-oven), sold by Springbar, the makers of the tent bearing that name. The specs:
It's a bit smaller than the Coleman, but has some very attractive improvements, especially better panel connectors, (making for a tighter seal and less heat loss), stainless steel construction, and a front window so you can view the food while it is cooking or warming (without opening the door.) So, I'll have another oven, if you need one.
Here it is (from the Springbar website.)

Compatible with any Winnerwell wood burning stove or stable heat source
Precision crafted in 304 stainless steel
Assembled dimensions: 10.5” x 13” x 10”
Packed dimensions: 10.5” x 13” x 3”
Weight: 6.5 pounds
Fastfold design uses integrated clasps for quick assembly with no hardware parts to lose or misplace
Integrated thermometer and a glass viewing window for temperature and bake management

Dave
I am familiar with that stove. In my quest to find a double wide oven(covers two burners), I came upon it.
It looks great! But why did they not make it double wide
To handle a larger pan? I am going to bring my home made, proof of concept stove.
Do bring the old Coleman, but I wanted to try Bruce’s Sun Oven if it should be free during daylight hours.
Thank you
Kevin

Dave,
I didn't see you and Hector were planning to do Friday breakfast. Should I bring my stuff as a backup in case Hector is delayed? It all keeps so it's no problem if it doesn't get used.
I don't see that anyone has signed up for Saturday lunch. I can cover that instead.
I'll bring the 3 french presses if we need them for a coffee taste off.

WINNEWRALL OVEN
Not having a toaster (per se), I was hoping the new WinnerWall oven would double as an oven and a toaster. The design is quite different from the Coleman, so my eventual judgment will have to wait. But, so far, the eggs Benedict breakfast is looking good. Here are a couple of English muffins that I toasted:

Re: 2019 Field Day Group Meal Planning
Dave,
That is a nice toast on those English muffins. I usually toast mine in a pan, but I have the same Winnerwell Flatfold oven.
As I was doing my Tuesday Night Newsline net, I baked some cookies tonight and gave English muffin toasting a try. Here is the somewhat dry result. Nicely crisp however.
Kevin the Winnerwell Oven does well. It holds heat nicely on a propane stove, once temp is achieved, only a slightly opened valve keeps the temp stable. The window allows you to keep a keen eye on your progress.

Re: 2019 Field Day Group Meal Planning
Is there a group meal head count by day?
Jeepergeo +1 will be there Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Jeff,
I don’t have an accurate count for Friday lunch. At this point I would plan on about 12 people, but that is my best guess until people confirm.
What is the meal plan and I can offer to bring a compliment dish
