A Holiday Poem

#1

Post by cruiserlarry » Fri Dec 24, 2010 7:29 pm

(*With a nod to NCFJ on the So Cal FJ Forum on whose poem this is based:)

Twas the night before Christmas
And out in the garage
The Jeep was broke down
After all, it’s a Dodge

The tires were off
The gear case is in parts
I should have taken my bonus check
down to DIRTY PARTS
;)

My Jeep has no top
And it doesn't have doors
It has no heat and A/C
They're only for bores

I still love that old Jeep
It still gives me a smile -
Even though that POS costs me
$10.50 per mile

It rides like a brick,
With springs like a rock.
I should buy a Toyota
But I've got an "import" mental block

My Jeep's loud and it rattles,
That is, of course, when it runs;
Sometimes the best tool for it
Is a well-aimed shotgun

I like to hang with my buddies
They all have Jeeps too
Out of the 12 of us who own Jeeps
One runs, maybe two

I really want to go wheeling
But I’m flat out of cash -
After my Jeep's last tow bill
I’ve developing a rash :o

Soooo... I call my pal with his FJ
He’s going to go wheeling tonight :D
I’ll ride shotgun and keep quiet
Seems about Jeeps he was right....

Happy Holidays to rigs of all brands, colors, and budgets

I sent this to my buddy Chris (who gave me a tow yesterday in his XJ), this was his response to me... My last name is Harmon by the way.
No offense to ANYONE!

What you forget, but the day before.
Was a man and his jeep you have to adore.
My jeep was awesome where yours was a bore.

Climbing up hills and chugging through mud.
My jeep got bogged and yours needed a tug.

Mine is American and Yours is a Jap.
Maybe one day you'll get rid of that piece of crap.

Maybe for Christmas Santa will be nice.
His sleigh is a cherokee with fuzzy little dice.

He gives good boys a nice new Jeep
And a bad little Harmon gets something cheap.

And as he passes your chiminey stack
you see a sticker on his bumper for blast.
It reads for me and you to see
"I ride in an FJ when I need to Pee"
