OAUSA Net - June 07, 2018 – Wine in the Outdoors

#1

Post by toms » Tue Jun 05, 2018 7:05 am

This week’s net will cover the subject of wine.

Wine is a great companion when recreating in the outdoors as long as done responsibly. That means after the day’s activities and in a safe place like around a camp fire.

Our returning guest and Wine aficionado is Lynda KI6SXI. Lynda is a wealth of information on wine and will talk about wine making, wineries, wine tasting, corks, box wines, reading labels and much more. She will try to answer any questions you have.

We would like to have your input on the wines you enjoy.

Also Join us for Field Day (June 22 & 23) for wine tasting late-afternoon on Friday and Saturday

These are the wines we will be tasting on Thursday.
If you get a chance pick up one or both at Ralphs - about $15.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHTS

1. Wine Hat

For all those who have been on our camping trips lately and all those who will be doing Field Day / Summer fest this year, we have something to think about. Nothing will spoil a good glass of wine quicker than to find some miserable little critter doing the backstroke in your glass of wine. Solution - the Wine Hat!

Early check in please - Thanks - Bernie - Don't really have anything to add to the conversation, like usual, as I can't do what most people here do, buy a vehicle for off-roading for an example, can't afford it, or can't get the time off from work, etc, but I do like to listen to the net, and I also like to share the net with anyone around here that might be listening. - I will say this however, I took Welch's grape juice, when I was 18 years old, and was going to go into the Army, and a quarter block of yeast, and sugar, water, etc, and put it in one of those old fashioned, pottery jugs, and made some grape wine, and was going to enjoy it after coming home from the Army, and instead, after the balloon, that was on the top of the jug, started to deflate, I waited a week or so after that, and actually drank the gallon of wine that I had made...LOL...Shared it with Mom and others...and it didn't taste too bad...even thought it wasn't aged very long after making it. Have a good net...73...
