Tri Tip Recipe:

For the record, I am embarrassed to say that this is hardly a recipe! I throw a Tri Tip into a dutch oven and cook it for 35 minutes at 350.

In any case, here is the recipe:

First, buy a tri-tip from Costco.
Not just any tri-tip but you should find the tri-tip that comes pre-rubbed in a blue plate with cellophane.
They are quite reasonable (I.E. less than $15).

Then, place the Tri-Tip into a 12 inch dutch oven and pour in a little less than half a bottle of red wine.
Place on coals for 30 minutes. (Nine on the bottom and 15 on the lid or about 350 degrees).
Turn the dutch oven a quarter turn and the lid a quarter turn in the opposite direction one or two times in the 30 minutes.

Pull off the coals, and slice thin cuts and serve immediately. (The cuts should be fairly pink in the middle!) don't over cook!

That's it!

Enjoy.
